The 3 Most Famous Emmas in Hollywood

Did you know that there are around 10 celebrities named ‘Emma’? Yep, it’s not just Emma Watson a.k.a. Belle of Beauty and the Beast, but others that some may not really have even heard of.

Still, the three most popular Emmas are millenials and are peaking..

EMMA ROBERTS

Or Emma Rose Roberts is an American actress and singer. While she may have gained recognition in the Nickelodeon television series Unfabulous, many may not know that she’s actually the niece of ‘Pretty Woman’ Julia Roberts! Notice their contagious smiles?

Emma Roberts

Weeell, guess Emma’s looks is much too sultry than her aunt, huh?? She’s real pretty that only Margot Robbie (of Suicide Squad) among others could possibly rival. Result? Hard to cast. Perhaps the suspense genre could be her ticket to full stardom.

EMMA STONE

Or Emily Jean Stone is an American actress. Probably the most decorated of the 3 Emmas with even an Academy Award, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award and 3 Screen Actors Guild Awards — and versatile as she is, she’s got more than a handful of films to her credit — including The Amazing Spider-Man 1 & 2 as well as the more recent La La Land.

Now compared to the other Emmas and all of Hollywood, her looks is more of a naughty or strong-willed woman, thus she’s easier to cast. The key, now and as always, is finding a good story.

EMMA WATSON

Or Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is a British actress, model, and activist. Perhaps one of the most schooled is our favorite heroine, Hermione Granger of the Harry Potter series. No, not in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry but in Brown University! And so, with Emma’s education and popularity, she was appointed UN Women Goodwill Ambassador in July 2014 where she promotes gender equality, fair trade and organic clothing.

Hmm… With her simple beauty, it would be interesting to see a remake of the 1965 classic ‘Sound of Music’ — and with Emma performing as Liesl von Trapp! That should be a humdinger!

Bikini Watch: Padma Lakshmi

It’s summer time! No wonder we’ve been getting a lot of requests to feature stars in their bikinis! And so for this issue, we bring you one of the most requested celebrities — Padma Lakshmi — the 45-year-old Indian-American beauty and host of reality TV show Top Chef.

Let’s now see Padma walk the beach through the years..

Hmm… Guess Padma simply loves plain colors, eh?!! And ‘basically’ swims just on three places — Miami, Mexico and India. Hah!

Well obviously, she has been taking care of herself as she said in her interview with Fitness magazine in its November/December 2014 issue that she likes to follow a ‘clean diet of no meat, no sweets, no alcohol, no cheese, no fried food, no wheat’.

So, be inspired ladies! This doesn’t mean you have to starve yourself just to look good as Padma herself said. Just live a healthy lifestyle..

And try to workout a bit!

The World of Caitlyn Jenner

Days ago, the world broke out with a revelation from Bruce..

Naturally, the family would be understanding – daughters and all.

Yes, although the transgender community had mixed reactions, celebrities were more supportive..

Caitlyn is now free. And perhaps with more opportunities than ever..

Thanks to Bruce and his brave struggle to come out..

This now is the new world of Caitlyn Jenner.

Star Watch: Renee Zellweger

Amid the controversy over Renee Zellweger’s new looks, there’s nothing really wrong if she wants to have surgery or what..

renee2So what if Renee had an upper eye lift and Botox?! People have their choices. Even if you’d look like a clown or turn into princely features, if it would help you then go. If not, it’s still your life.

1413953088662_wps_77_LEFT_Renee_Zellweger_atteProblem is people compare people to their looks some 20 years ago, of course, they’re different.. even without surgery. We all age.

1413887657577_Image_galleryImage_Mandatory_Credit_Photo_byStill the bigger issue is that society wants us to look perfect especially celebrities. Wake up! Remember, we’re even just on borrowed time.

Star Watch: Unbroken’s Angelina Jolie and Louis Zamperini

The interview may have happened 8 months ago, while the movie is to be released 2 months from now; but then, it certainly would be nice to really understand the people behind the film Unbroken..

And in this case, we got director Angelina Jolie, yes she’s the film director; and Louis Zamperini whose life story was based in this epic World War II movie.

Hmm.. when Angelina was said to be directing the movie, what comes to mind? The Lara Croft type of action eh?! And definitely, this is what fans expect from the film. Action and excitement.

And sure enough, as she was looking for a meaningful project – the life story of war hero Louis Zamperini fortuitously came to her lap.

Louis, also an athlete in his time was even able to come face-to-face and gain the admiration of Nazi Leader Adolf Hitler. Isn’t that a thrill in itself? The race. The meeting. The trials Louis overcame.

Ah, more thrilling than just being distant neighbors, huh? Well, surely this interview by NBC’s Tom Brokaw showed us not only how sharp a 97-year-old can still be – but how important the relationship between the director and the subject is..

Sadly, Louis passed away last July 2nd, and even before the film could be shown.

Manny Pacquiao and Basketball

If you happen to be watching the preseason games of the PBA, you must have chanced upon the game between Blackwater and Team Kia, the team of playing-coach Manny Pacquiao.

Yes, you heard me right.. and you must have known it by now. 8-division world boxing champion Manny Pacquiao has indeed ventured into basketball, probably his second love in terms of sports. Manny-Pacquiao-with-Team-Kia

Well, I only watched the first half of the game actually and saw Pacman’s limited minutes. His stats says he compiled 1 point, 1 rebound and 1 turnover at the half. Though t’was still the first half, it’s definitely not the stat you’d wish for in your player.

And based on what we saw, the team still needs to improve a lot and, enough of the sweet talking though – Pacquiao clearly is not for “professional” basketball. He was basically lost and lacks the fundamentals to excel in the sport.

And so, I stopped watching.. obviously, he’s just for boxing.

mp playing in the PBA for KIAStill, the sadder part is yet to come when the team and Pacman gets into the regular season and if really lucky, to the playoffs where his lack of skills would be further exposed.

Hopefully before that happens, the coaching staff could develop a good system where Pacquiao could just shoot or pass and not dribble the ball when on the court but that’s just for offense – how much more when he’s on defense where he could be exploited?

As far as coaching is concerned, ah, it’s not the regular games yet – besides, Pacquiao has got other undertakings to blame if he fails.

To Team Kia, just be more prepared when you meet better teams.

Miroslav Raduljica. The Championship. The Beard Battle.

By now, many basketball fans should know Miroslav Raduljica, the Serbian center who showed that he could really play ball against the world’s best.

Okay, his Serbian team may have lost the championship to the favorites which was the United States, 129-92..

image

But then, looking closely, they would have actually had a chance if not for Kyrie Irving’s.. brilliance? Nah. Though Irving is a terrific baller, it was simply his “lucky” night as he shot 6-6 from 3s – paving the way for an avalanche of 3s from the rest of the team.

Would Spain have done better? Well, the dynamics of the game would have certainly changed for one. So, who knows?

Nonetheless, what is this beard thing, huh?

Funny but it seems the battle has gone from the basketball court onto one’s facial hair – though not a serious one, of course.

American guard James Harden

Hmm.. yes, you’ve heard it – Raduljica declared his beard better than that of his American counterpart, James Harden.

Still, at the end of the day, whether Harden looks brash or Raduljica like an outdoorsman – carriage is the key here..

And, what message he really wants to send with his “beard.”

Prince George is turning 1..

Meet our cute, little star of the day – Prince George of Cambridge, son of the Duchess of Cambridge, Catherine and, Prince William, known as the Duke of Cambridge.

Well, it’s been a year now since the young Prince was born, actually a couple more days before George turns 1.. And that would be this Tuesday, July 22.

So, let’s see his life in pictures, or some pictures that is..

And since it’s almost his birthday, well, he’s showing he could go on his own.

Eager for Prince George’s second birthday? Ah, what’s another 365 days to wait..

2014 World Cup: Luis Suarez, Uruguayan Striker

Sure you must have heard of the suspension on Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez which was due to his “biting” on an opposing player during a crucial match in the ongoing 2014 World Cup in Brazil..

image
Chiellini in blue, Suarez in white

..and so, the FIFA suspended Suarez for 4 months from any soccer competition.

Was it right for the FIFA to suspend him that long? And at a critical time? Well, was it also right for him to bite an opponent? Reminds us of some boxing match some years ago.

But as Suarez said, he just lost his balance and so his teeth hit Chiellini. Oh, see? Then again, how about reviewing the tape?

Anyway, while Uruguay would naturally protest on Suarez’s suspension, many claimed it to be too severe – even from the man he bit, Giorgio Chiellini.

Hmm… this is interesting.

image
Italy vs Uruguay match, more than just skin deep

Yes, Suarez did something definitely unsportsmanlike but you heard Chiellini. He was the one offended and still deemed the punishment as too much.

Thus, even just for this year’s World Cup, Suarez should be allowed to play and just let him serve his suspension right after the World Cup. This, provided he won’t do it again. For once he does, the Uruguayan team should also share the blame and be automatically kicked out of the 2014 World Cup..

After all, Luis Suarez has already been noted for similar violations even before this competition.

Agree?

From High School to NBA no more

Moving the age limit for NBA draftees became a hot topic even before the Donald Sterling controversy. And with a proposal of adjusting the entree’s age from 18 to 20, many just seems to agree.

image

Okay, while there may be a few high schoolers who are NBA-ready, most kids are still ill-equipped. And we’re talking especially about the necessary fundamentals to flourish – not to mention their physical readiness.

We all know the NBA is a tough league. And with its demanding 82 game schedule, how many 18 year olds can actually make a difference? As it is, many are just there in their rookie contracts then playing somewhere else afterwards.

Talk about preparedness.

This only shows the league’s hunger for fresh faces with low maintenance in hope to land a steal. Hmm… Business as usual. On the other hand, kids are pressed to make a big buck in a world of increased income inequality and decreasing opportunities..

image
Andrew Wiggins

..and the fans? They are left to endure whoever’s on the court. Regardless, they don’t really seem to care much except if they are close friends and relatives of the draftee.

But at 20, not only will these boys be more ready physically but they could also continue to help their schools’ competitiveness, get some more education and maturity while continuing to develop their basketball skills.

Good for the league. Better for the rookies. Great for the fans.
